Thermomix Blinis
This year when I went out for my Big Christmas Shop, I completely forgot to buy blinis. Has this ever happened to you? Well, don’t panic, because you only need 5 minutes to make Thermomix Blinis 😉
Blinis are fluffy little Russian pancakes that are traditionally served with caviar – if you can afford it, that is! Other potential garnishes include things like Smoked Salmon Rillettes or slices of smoked duck breast. Use your imagination. These blinis are so quick to make, you can experiment at the drop of a hat!
I served my Thermomix Blinis today with some delicious marinated salmon loin and a naughty dollop of sour cream. ThermoHubby John was getting hungry and was worried that I’d take too long to make blinis from scratch. Then, when he turned around 5 minutes later, I presented him with a beautiful plate of homemade blinis. Boy, was he impressed! And they taste so very good, too!
Equipment
- Thermomix TM31, TM5, TM6
Ingredients
- 200 g plain flour
- 200 g milk
- 3 eggs
- 2 pinches of salt
- 1 pinch of sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
Instructions
- Put a non-stick frying pan or griddle on to high heat.
- Add all ingredients to your Thermomix bowl and mix 20 seconds/Speed 4.
- Scrape down sides of bowl and mix again 10 seconds/Speed 4.
- Drop small circles of batter onto your hot pan. As soon as you see bubbles forming on the surface, (it’s quick, only about 10-15 seconds!), turn them over and let them brown another 10 seconds or so, or until both sides are nicely browned.
- Serve immediately with your choice of topping: smoked salmon; caviar and sour cream; or your other favourite.
So, what do you serve with your Thermomix blinis?
