How real people use Thermomix

How real people use Thermomix

Always inspired Thermomix/Bimby blogger Helene in Canada has spotted a brilliant blog which has in turn inspired me to begin reporting on the many ways real people use their beloved Thermomix.

As an independent Thermomix demonstrator I am often asked about this subject, both before people buy and also shortly after. Zan, busy mother of three and home-based entrepreneur, has set herself the task of recording all the many and varied things she does in her Thermomix in her daily blog, Thermomix Meals.

From bread to boiled eggs, porridge to playdough, and curry to chocolate ice cream, Zan uses her Thermomix every day, to the delight of her family. Her children use it often, too. I can personally identify with the opening comment on her “About Me” page; it is one that I also hear around me and something that seems to bubble under the surface of people who enquire about Thermomix: “After a lot of thought, deliberation and saving I have finally purchased a Thermomix.” Some people absolutely have to have a Thermomix and are lucky enough to be able to purchase it without a lot of thought. Some people need to work out in their minds how they can get a return on their investment. Some people need to justify the expense to themselves. Some people need to save before buying. Some people need to give themselves permission to buy a Thermomix.

Whatever the reason and whatever the journey for you, Zan’s journey is certainly eventful and her uses and insights will show prospective Thermomix owners (and current Thermomix lovers) loads of things you can do with this extra pair of hands in the kitchen. After just two weeks, Zan says she’s used it 49 times which means about 3.5 times per day. That seems amazing but when you get yours you’ll find at least as many ways to use it!

The Thermomix TM31 is like an extra pair of hands in your kitchen

Monday of this week Zan says “Dinner was one of my favourites. All in one varoma meal – ham and cheese chicken parcels (flattened chicken breast, with ham and swiss cheese rolled up in tin foil and steamed in the varoma for 30 mins (hot water in the bowl)), with boiled potatoes and steamed veg, with a sour cream cheese sauce (just added a big tablespoon of sour cream, a big one of cream cheese and the juices from the chicken parcel and cooked for 2 mins).” Makes my mouth water from the tastes and makes my mind spin from the simplicity.

So thanks for the brilliant inspiration, Zan, and long live your Thermomix!

  • LOL welcome to my Thermomix world, Ben! Join the kitchen revolution and use your Thermomix to create fast, easy, healthy, creative and economical meals for the whole family, from singles to crowds. Bon appétit !

  • I must be one of the last person on the planet to date to be a newbie as far as Thermomix TM 31 is concerned. I am glad indeed because I can just imagine the myriad amount of stuff one can do with it.

  • So sorry my dear Canadian Helene to confuse you with someone down in Oz… I of course know that Super Kitchen Machine.com is both the very best Thermomix blog on the web, and also that it is crafted in Canada. My fatigued mistake!

There is so much buzz originating in Australia about Thermomix it’s amazing. Zan’s blog, Thermomix Meals, comes from down under, as does Jo’s Quirky Cooking with its allergy-specialised Thermomix recipes, gluten-free Thermomix recipes and generally great Thermomix recipes. I did a demonstration today here in Surrey for a couple who heard about Thermomix from a friend in Australia but who hadn’t yet heard of it here in the UK. We’ll get there soon, though, as the buzz about Thermomix is strengthening in the UK, too.

So cheers to all the Thermomix users and Thermomix bloggers around the world, wherever you are!

  • So glad you enjoyed Zan’s blog and were able to elaborate on her achievement. I too kept a Thermomix diary for about 6 months and logged about 3 uses per day. Seems to be an average for many of us. For me though, it was all to much… the blogging, the diary, the cooking and all the rest life has to offer up. So… sadly, I had to admit my limit and retire the diary part of the blog. (That’s why I was so happy to see Zan being so conscientious and keeping hers up to date — because I know how much of a commitment it is to do so.)

Thanks for linking to my blog, but just a slight correction — as much as I’d like to be down there in the big hot sunshine, I am Canadian-based… not Australian! Cheers, H. 😉
